list will include Kareela Hill horses Leo, Merlin and Georgia.

a special Ground Skills series of group lessons with Marilyn Southern (1*

October News, 2011
Well yesterday we farewelled another
wonderful young vet student as well as Limelight too. Amber, the vet
student, has a horse of her own, so the week went very quickly as we
worked through the long list of jobs to do as well as make sure most of
the tasks that she needed to have "ticked off" were also addressed too.
Limelight has now had
his first lengthy road trip to his new home near Perth. Although it is a
bit sad to have one of our babies leave us, it is also with much pride
that we get to see how well they have turned out and can now get a lot
more attention than we can provide. His new owner is a passionate 1*
Parelli Instructor, so I'm sure he will have every opportunity to continue
his growth and development with her.
It has been a very busy time in the
buying department too! We now have added a couple of new lovely mares to
the herd of girls. One is only a yearling - by our own Magic. Her name is
Little Miss Radical ("Missy") and she is a beautiful rich
dark bay. Already she is showing herself to be very self-confident and
loves to be with people - all day if possible!
The other mare is a lovely
palomino Quarab -
Xanthos/Noran Kawya, 3
years old. Her name is Noran Golden
Dancer ("Zara") and we look forward to seeing her foals over
future years.
Meanwhile, Muffet and her baby Dakota
(for sale) are enjoying the lush spring pastures. see pic below.

September News - 2011
Radical Blue
Sundance (Jamey) has now been sold. Congratulations to Lisa of
Gidgegannup on her purchase.
Dakota
continues to fill out and grow. There are a couple of new photos on the
"For Sale" page.
Coming up
next month will be a special camp out with our horses and friends in a
pretty glen, protected from any wind and full of small birds like wrens,
scarlet robins and owls and bats too!
Later this
month we will also have a vet student from Murdoch University come to
study Natural Horsemanship with us for a whole week.
Finally, next
week will see the first mares for this season going to Magic. He is
looking magnificent and keen for any action!

Magic is checking out his new son over the fence last week.
August News
- 2011
This month
has seen an average amount of rain once again and the dams are looking OK.
The best news is the arrival of Radical Blue Dakota, a
bay colt from Dakota Miss Muffet. She had no problems with the delivery
and we were there to keep her company and witness his birth at 1.15am on
7th August. "Dakota" appears to be, at the moment, a very high
energy charismatic colt with very pretty markings. He is for sale ($3000
before weaning) and will suit all western performance, polocrosse,
campdrafting etc.

This week, from 16th August, we will have Sam Caporn
(3* Parelli Professional), back again for further education and
horse-training.

About Kareela Hill Stud
Kareela
farm is a 1400 acre sheep and cropping property located just south of
Kojonup, approx 260 kms south of Perth. We grow Merino wool, cross-bred
fat lambs, canola, oats and barley. With an average rainfall of 500mls and
excellent loamy soils, Kareela Farm is well placed to provide excellent
pastures for the growing of horses too.
Kareela Hill Stud is a horse stud
specialising in breeding FEI and Olympic quality Hanoverian Warmbloods by
super sires such as Weltmeyer, Wolkenstein II and Wolkentanz, through the
use of imported frozen semen (IFS).
We also breed modern Western Pleasure type
Quarter Horses with quiet, reliable temperaments and sound conformation,
making them the appropriate horse for a wide range of pursuits. Some of
our Quarter Horses are purebred and registered with the AQHA, but,
occasionally we also cross our QH stallion over selected warmblood mares
to create that special "designer" horse which can be sometimes registered
as a first cross quarter horse and a warmblood with A.C.E. too. These
horses are then ideal for pursuing
AQHA ROMs in dressage, trail, hunter etc and also perfect for the
teenager or adult rider looking for the perfect combination of movement,
good looks and temperament.
